What is the World Record for the Largest Litter of Puppies?
Neapolitan Mastiff, a large and powerful breed of dog, holds the world record for the largest litter of puppies, with 24 puppies born in 2004. The proud mother, named Tia, gave birth to 14 females and 10 males.
This is an extremely rare occurrence, and most litters are much smaller. The average litter size for most breeds is around 6 puppies.
Neapolitan Mastiffs have a long history as guard dogs and were originally bred in Italy. They are known for their loyalty and protective nature, making them a popular choice for families looking for a dependable and trustworthy companion

- The Tale of Zeus: The World's Tallest Dog
Dogs are known for their loyalty, companionship, and unique characteristics. However, there are some dogs that stand out from the rest due to their size, and one such dog is the world record holder for the tallest dog.
The current world record for the tallest dog is held by a Great Dane named Zeus, who measured a whopping 111.8 cm (44 inches) tall at the shoulder. Zeus was born in Otsego, Michigan, in November 2008, and lived until September 2014 when he passed away at the age of five due to natural causes.
Zeus was a gentle giant, weighing over 155 pounds (70 kg), and was loved by his family and people who met him. He enjoyed spending time with his owners, Kevin and Denise Doorlag, and their four children, who were all fascinated by his size and friendly nature. The Doorlags knew that Zeus was a special
dog from the moment they got him. He grew quickly, and they realized that he was not an average-sized Great Dane. They decided to measure him, and to their surprise, he was taller than the previous record holder, Giant George, who was also a Great Dane and measured 109.2 cm (43 inches) tall.
Zeus's record-breaking height earned him worldwide fame, and he was featured in several media outlets, including the Guinness World Records. His owners took advantage of his popularity to raise awareness about animal welfare and encourage people to adopt dogs from animal shelters.
Zeus's legacy continues to inspire people to appreciate the uniqueness of all dogs, regardless of their size or breed. His record-breaking height also shows how nature can produce incredible variations, even within the same species.
In conclusion, Zeus, the Great Dane, holds the world record for the tallest dog, measuring an incredible 111.8 cm (44 inches) at the shoulder. He was a gentle giant who captured the hearts of many people around the world and left a lasting legacy that continues to inspire us all

A sad dog story that ends in a happy life for two disabled dogs; Eve and Dillon
Two dogs who found each other and became great friends |
Eve was found abandoned on Christmas Eve when she was a nine week old puppy.
But when another disabled dog was also handed in to the Dog Shelter life became so much better for Eve
Dillon is two years old. He is blind and his owner put him in boarding kennels but did not come back to retrieve him. Dillon was then passed on to the shelter a few weeks ago. They use each others available senses to get around and have both grown in confidence. They became inseparable very quickly.
The staff at the dog shelter were hoping the dogs could be adopted together.
They were not optimistic though because both are cross breeds and large dogs.
Then there were the disabilities to consider too.
They have a Facebook Page where they have photos and the stories of each dog that is available for adoption. Eve had already been on the Facebook Page for a while and a potential new owner had come to visit the shelter to see her. When she saw how the two dogs were together and the love they had for each other she did not have the heart to separate them.
So now both Eve and Dillon have found a loving home and an eleven year old pal too
Both these dogs had a very sad and cruel start in life.Eve and Dillon happy in their new home together |

Nellie the English Bull Terrier who digs up truffles in her back garden. |
Nellie the English Bull Terrier is owned by a couple in the UK and has been digging up their garden since 2007.
The owners were at first annoyed until they realized what she was looking for.
Black Autumn Truffles to be precise lol.
It is great to hear a nice story about this breed of dog.English Bull Terriers make wonderful pets.
My belief is that if you treat your dogs with respect and kindness they will be loving and gentle pets.Truffles are extremely hard to come by and almost unheard of in the UK.
The owners make around £1000 a year by selling the truffles and say it pays for some of the upkeep of their much loved family dog.
